In this rugged landscape, neighbors watch out for each other, whatever their tribe.  We do so, not just as a matter of personal survival, but a matter of common decency.

Republican rhetoric divides Texans and diminishes the people’s power.  Closures, bans, walls, and razor wire only undermine trade, weaken the economy, and disrupt lives.  Texas needs leaders who work for solutions rather than stage stunts for the next campaign season.

We believe in the politics of finding common ground.  We believe in the power of bringing people together rather than dividing them.  We believe in a Government that supports a strong economy, enhances quality of life, and preserves public safety.  We believe in the rule of law.  We demand the best of our public servants.  We do not tolerate corruption and inertia from politicians.  We prize our constitutional freedoms above all else.

We formed the Big Bend Democrats to encourage the best of us to run for office, to support strong local candidates, and give a platform to policies that will make Texas the best it can be.
